HOW WE ARE GOVERNED

We conform to the national care standards of the Care Inspectorate, and you can find details of our most recent Inspection Report here.

Our early years staff are fully qualified and are registered with the The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as appropriate and we are full members of Early Years Scotland.

​

We are a partner-provider of the City of Edinburgh Council and adhere to their terms and conditions of service.

​

All our staff and board members are part of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme, run by Disclosure Scotland which provides in-depth police checks to ensure suitability to work within a childcare setting. We also follow Safer Recruitment processes to ensure rigorous recruitment and selection of all new employees.

HOW WE ARE MANAGED

Our Nursery Manager and Business Manager are responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery with strategic support from a volunteer Board of Directors and Parent Committee (sub-committee of the Board).  In addition, all parents/carers of current nursery children are invited to become Company Members of the nursery, giving them voting rights at our AGM and ultimate control of whom is appointed as a director.  You can find more information about our company structure here.

OUR POLICIES 

We have a number of policies and governance documents that we follow to ensure the smooth running of our nursery.  All our policies are reviewed in rotation at least once every 3 years. These are available to view below and hard copies are also available to read on request:
